James "Jim" Ridinger

James "Jim" Ridinger went home to be with his Lord on December 17, 2017.

He was born on November 2,

1931 in Marion County, Arkansas to Floyd and Rosa Ridinger. Jim preceded in death his loving wife, Naomi of 15 years, who went with him to be with their Lord, just five days after his passing; his parents; stepfather, Roy Long; brothers, Harold and Vaughn Ridinger; and his first wife of 38 years, Becky Jeffers. He is survived by his brother, Ralph Ridinger; five stepchildr­en, Royla (Jennifer) Jones Jr., Suzan (Kenny) Ross, Rachel (Joe) Rippey, Nanette Contreras, and Jason (Karen) Jones; numerous step grandchild­ren; step great-grandchild­ren; nephews, and nieces. He graduated from the School of the Ozarks, in 1948. After a tour in the army during the Korean conflict, Jim obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri at Rolla, using the GI Bill. He joined Sandia National Laboratori­es in 1957 and retired in 1991 as a Distinguis­hed Member of the Technical Staff. Jim was an elder in Heights Cumberland Presbyteri­an Church and member for 54 years.

A memorial service will be held for both Jim and Naomi Ridinger Friday, January 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Westside. Interment has taken place at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributi­ons be made to the Westside Cumberland Presbyteri­an Church, 4110 Sabana Grande Ave SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
