Jimmy Dean "Chief" Allen, Sr.,

61, passed away in his home on Tuesday, January

2, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 14, 1956 to Leo and Wanda Allen in Colgate,

OK. He was an honored veteran of the United States Air Force where he received the nickname "Chief." He served 25 years and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant, the highest enlisted rank. Two of his children and his oldest grandson have followed in his footsteps by serving active duty in the United States Army. On December 29, 1978 he married his "best buddy," Denise Allen, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. They raised three beautiful children together and settled down in Albuquerqu­e, New Mexico. Chief loved his family, the great outdoors and the American folklore of Bigfoot and aliens. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, fishing, hiking, and taking adventures on his motorcycle. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys and Oklahoma Sooners football fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Wanda Allen; and brother, Troy. He is survived by his wife, Denise and loyal dog, Happy; his children and their families: Jimmy Allen, Jr. and children-Joseph and wife, Larissa, Hunter, and Ashlynn; Nikki and Adam Mollenkopf and their children-Lainey, Lorelei and Levi; Melissa Allen and granddog Remi; one brother, Ray Allen and wife Judy of Atoka, Oklahoma; countless relatives, friends and coworkers.

A Memorial Mass will take place on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church at 5712 Paradise Blvd. NW Albuquerqu­e, NM 87114 followed by full military honors.
