N.C. State thwarts No. 2 Duke, 96-85

Providence ends Xavier’s 10-game roll

RALEIGH, N.C. — Omer Yurtseven had 16 points while Torin Dorn hit two huge 3-pointers in the final 2 minutes to help North Carolina State upset No. 2 Duke 96-85 on Saturday.

It was the second win against a No. 2-ranked team this season for N.C. State.

No. 3 VILLANOVA 100, MARQUETTE 90: In Philadelph­ia, Jalen Brunson had 27 points and eight assists and Villanova bounced back from its first loss of the season.

PROVIDENCE 81, No. 5 XAVIER 72 : In Providence, R.I., Kyron Cartwright had 19 points, nine assists and four steals to help Providence snap the Musketeers’ 10-game winning streak and ending the best start in their school’s history.

No. 6 WEST VIRGINIA 89, No. 7 OKLAHOMA 76: In Morgantown, W.Va., Teddy Allen scored 20 points off the bench, and Sagaba Konate had 14 of his 16 points in the second half for the Mountainee­rs. Konate also had 13 rebounds.

No. 8 VIRGINIA 61, No. 12 NORTH CAROLINA 49: In Charlottes­ville, Va., Devon Hall scored 16 points as Virginia held North Carolina to its second-lowest point total of the season.

No. 10 KANSAS 88, No. 16 TCU

84: In Fort Worth, Devonte Graham scored 28 points with eight straight free throws in the final 2:02 as Kansas held on.

LSU 69, No. 11 TEXAS A&M

68: In College Station, Texas, Tremont Waters scored 21 points, including an off-balance 3-pointer with 1 second remaining, to lift LSU.

No. 13 PURDUE 74, NEBRASKA 62: In West Lafayette, Ind., Vincent Edwards scored 21 points and Isaac Haas added 14 to lead Purdue to its 11th consecutiv­e win.

No. 23 TENNESSEE 76, No. 17 KENTUCKY 65: In Knoxville, Tenn., Admiral Schofield had 20 points and nine rebounds and Tennessee rallied in the second half to end a two-game skid.

No. 18 TEXAS TECH 74, KANSAS STATE 58: In Lubbock, Texas, Keenan Evans scored 27 points and Texas Tech beat Kansas State to back up that big win at Kansas earlier in the week.

No. 19 GONZAGA 85, LOYOLA 66: In Los Angeles, Johnathan Williams scored 30 points and Gonzaga opened the second half with a 17-0 run to roll past Loyola Marymount.

No. 21 SETON HALL 90, BUTLER 87: In Indianapol­is, Khadeen Carrington scored 29 points, Angel Delgado had 28 points and 15 rebounds and Seton Hall rallied from an 11-point deficit to win its fifth straight game.

AUBURN 88, No. 22 ARKANSAS 77: In Auburn, Ala., Mustapha Heron scored 17 points and Auburn fended off a late comeback attempt to secure an victory over Arkansas, the Tigers 12th consecutiv­e win.

No. 25 CLEMSON 74, LOUISVILLE 69 (OT): In Clemson, S.C., Marcquise Reed scored 24 points and Elijah Thomas had 12 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks to lead Clemson to a win over Louisville in overtime.

UTAH STATE 85, UNLV 78: In Las Vegas, Koby McEwen scored 21 points, Sam Merrill added 20 and Utah State closed on a 9-0 run and beat UNLV.

NEVADA 86, AIR FORCE 75: At the Air Force Academy, Colo., Caleb Martin scored 23 points, Kendall Stephens added 21 on all 3-pointers and Nevada pulled away over the last 10 minutes to defeat Air Force.

FRESNO STATE 83, COLORADO STATE 79 (OT): In Fort Collins, Colo., Deshon Taylor scored 22 points, including nine in the extra period, to lead Fresno State over Colorado State.

WYOMING 79, BOISE STATE 78 (OT): In Laramie, Wyo., Hayden Dalton had 29 points and 12 rebounds and Justin James scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half to help Wyoming overcome a 16-point halftime deficit.

NMHU 84, SOUTH DAKOTA MINES 56: In Las Vegas, Nev., Jacob Holland’s 23 points led four Cowboys (12-4, 7-3 RMAC) scoring in double figures in the win over the Hardrocker­s (6-8, 3-6).
