Downs offers thousands in free play, prizes during January
Turn up the excitement this January at The Downs Racetrack & Casino.
Win your share of $4,000 in free play on Saturday and Sunday during the “$24,000 Downs Derby.” The “derby” will be held at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., 8 p.m., and 10 p.m. Earn 75 base points to qualify for the promotion. Another derby, the “Random Virtual Downs Derby” will happen randomly. This derby awards a shared prize of $100 in free play to win, place, and show finishes.
The winning continues Mondays through Fridays with the “$250,000 Quarter Mill & Chill.” There will be 800 winners during the promotion, with each winning up to $900 cash. There will be three winners during each of the drawings, at noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., 8 p.m., and 10 p.m. Earn 75 base points to qualify.
Rack up five times the points on Wednesdays and be part of “Instant Hit.” There will be 15 “Instant Hit” drawings every Wednesday. Guests qualify for the promotion by earning 25 base points within the 30 minutes prior to each drawing. All prizes are free play and must be used within 48 hours of a win. Sixty winners will be selected each Wednesday. Get to The Downs early on Thursdays for the “Early Bird” promotion. Players qualify by earning 50 base points. A bonus wheel will appear on the game a patron is playing when 50 base points are accrued for a chance to win between $5 and $500 in free play.
Shake off the week’s stress on Friday and Saturday nights in the First Turn Lounge inside The Downs. The lounge has live entertainment every weekend and no cover charge. Fat City performs tonight and Saturday, Jan. 20. DJ Mister E will provide entertainment on Jan. 26. The DJ also will play the best music and videos of the 1990s on a 20-foot HDTV and on the 30 screens in the First Turn Lounge for its “’90s House Party.” There is no cover for the event.

SKY CITY CASINO HOTEL: Sky City will close out the football season with its “Blitzing for Bling” free play drawings. The drawings will be held every halfhour between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. today and Jan. 26. One winner will be selected during each drawing for a chance to win $25 to $100 in free play and official NFL merchandise. Guests will receive an entry for every 20 points earned.

Guests who are 50 years and older are eligible to win $100 cash between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Wednesdays. Earn 10 points within the promotion day to be eligible. Senior patrons also will receive $20 in free play after earning 400 points between selected hours.
