Drama shows radical left only wants its voices

-

REFERENCING THE exaggerated reaction to the political cartoon depicting the gang members holding up two conservatives, welcome to the radical left’s interpretation of the First Amendment and their ability to shut your desire for open discussion down to only what they want to hear. You could have published any cartoon, no matter how extreme or offensive, so long as it was anti-Trump, with no reaction; but touch on one of their pet ideologies and you will be castigated and called all sorts of names: racist, bigot, antiimmigrant, etc. in an effort to prevent the very dialogue you were hoping to initiate. The community organizers’ artificial anger and their harsh words play well to a segment of the population and effectively muzzle you. Their new definition of the First Amendment has an addendum: only so long as it agrees with my perspective, otherwise you cannot say it, and I will not hear it. Unless you have the courage to stand by your principles and ideals for open dialogue on all sides of an issue, “they” will become your criteria for what you can or cannot say or print. This is being played out on many college campuses regularly, and somehow I do not think this outcome resembles what our founders had in mind. Stand up for the principles you profess to believe in, and do not cower before these misguided activists, or we will all lose.
