Edward "Ed" R. Majka

It is with great sadness that the family of Edward "Ed" R. Majka, age 70, born July 11, 1947, announces his passing on February 2, 2018, at his home with his wife, Marjorie and his sister, Cheryl by his side. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, his family moved to Niagara Falls, NY when Ed was a young boy. A 1969 graduate of Niagara University, Lewiston, NY, he received a commission as an officer in the US Army via ROTC. Once his military duty ended, he was in executive management positions throughout his career at Union Carbide Corporatio­n, AETC (Advanced Environmen­tal Technology Corporatio­n), and Waste Management, retiring to New Mexico in 1998. Once in New Mexico, he and Marjorie were Albuquerqu­e realtors. He also served as President of ESCA, (Eastern Sandoval County Associatio­n). Ed is survived by his wife, Marjorie, of 48 years; his sisters, Cheryl Stavins and Janie Harris (Randall) of Houston, TX, and Jo-Anne Majka (Russell Smith) of Albuquerqu­e; and his lucky #7 rescue dog, Keesee. In lieu of flowers Ed asks that those who desire may make a memorial donation in his name to Watermelon Mountain Ranch Animal Shelter. Ed was dearly loved, and he loved dearly; he will be greatly missed. A celebratio­n of Ed’s life will take place Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels, The Liberal Catholic Church, 1701 Tulip Road (West on Abrazo Rd from Unser Blvd), Rio Rancho, with a reception to follow in their hall.
