Cruces native, country singer returns for Cowboy Days show
Josh Grider’s life changed when he became a father.
And he welcomed it with open arms.
“For any parent, the job is massively humbling,” he says of parenthood. “In my line of work, I’m trying to sell a product and I’m the product. But kids have another perspective. To my kids, I’m just Dad. They know I tour and make music. At the end of the day, I’m just Dad. Dad is not cool at all.”
The Las Cruces native and rising country singer has been making music for more than a decade.
Although he’s moved away from the Land of Enchantment, he seems to find his way back for performances.
He will return to perform at Cowboy Days at the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum at 7 p.m. March 3.
Grider also returns to New Mexico with his new album, “Good People,” in tow.
The album is a reflection of where Grider is in life.
“I’ve got two little boys now,” he says. “The album represents my thoughts and feelings in today’s world. We need more compassion. It’s important to be honest when I’m writing. I’m really proud of this album.”
