Criminals need to be dealt with

-

THIS IS in response to Adriann Barboa’s tirade against Gov. Susana Martinez in (the Feb. 7) Journal titled “Tough-oncrime bills not helping,” and her description of them as the “same tired, recycled, tough-on-crime agenda.” Barboa seems incapable of understanding that Gov. Martinez is right to still keep working against the crime that seems to have gotten worse and worse.

Certainly support for education needs is important. Children need to receive an education and at the same time have a right to live in a safe community. They need to be free from some savages who pass themselves off as parents. They need to feel safe going back and forth from those important schools. They need to feel safe from dingbat people of all ages who want to shoot everybody, young and old.

When a wild animal goes into a neighborhood and is a threat to people, it is shot.

When people have proven time and again to be a threat to the community they, too, should be shot. They shouldn’t be sent off to prison where they can spend their lives sleeping, eating and watching TV at other citizens’ expense. Getting rid of them would save money, leaving more for education.

If the people would listen to folks like Gov. Martinez and others pushing for greater efforts to get rid of the dangerous element of society, these precious children would be a lot safer while they are getting educated.

Widen your sphere, Adriann. Help to get a society where those educated children can live without fear. DONNALEE WHEELER Farmington
