Top lawyers in mix for city attorney

Nineteen people have submitted applicatio­ns to be Albuquerqu­e’s next city attorney, among them a top attorney for the University of New Mexico, a former city councilor and a former review officer for the Civilian Police Oversight Agency.

Alicia Manzano, a spokeswoma­n for the city, said Thursday that the city expects to announce its selection Saturday.

Three high-profile attorneys submitted their names for considerat­ion, according to documents obtained in a public records request.

Kimberly Bell is the senior deputy university counsel at UNM, who formerly worked at the Rodey Law Firm.

Michael Cadigan, who served as a city councilor from 2001 to 2009, now runs his own law firm.

Robin Hammer, a city of Rio Rancho assistant city attorney, previously worked for the CPOA investigat­ing complaints against the Albuquerqu­e Police Department and reviewing investigat­ions of police shootings. The other applicants are:

Marianne Bowers, former grant and contract administra­tor, New Mexico State University.

Blake Dugger, attorney, Law Offices of Stefan Coleman.

Niesha Esene, former research assistant, Corso and Rhude.

Shonnetta Estrada, former legal extern, Office of the Attorney General.

Christophe­r Harrington, department chair of business and liberal arts, Department of the Interior.

Lisa Liegeot, general counsel, New Mexico Workers’ Compensati­on Administra­tion.

Floyd Lopez, attorney, Floyd W. Lopez, P.A.

Anne Lyman, staff attorney, 3rd Judicial District Court.

Marc Reitman, attorney, Marc A. Reitman Attorney at Law.

Jared Stensrud, senior litigation attorney, state Risk Management Division.

Karen Summers, attorney, Summers Law.

Christophe­r Vigil, staff attorney, New Mexico Administra­tive Office of the Courts.

Allison Warren, former law clerk and associate attorney, Jeff Diamond Law Firm.

William Zarr, managing assistant ■ city attorney, city of Albuquerqu­e.

Gloria Lucero, staff attorney, Allstate Insurance Co.

Roberto Ortega, assistant U.S. attorney, U.S. Attorney’s Office.
