What you need to know about Fresno State:

The Bulldogs won’t have a lot at stake in tonight’s regular-season finale. They are locked into fourth place in the Mountain West standings and won’t celebrate senior night because there are no seniors on FSU’s roster. That said, the ’Dogs typically play well at home (11-3 this season) and would like to avenge an 88-75 loss to UNM on Jan. 13. Candice White, who leads the MWC in scoring, needs just two points to reach 1,000 for her career. She’s been getting more help on the offensive end of late, particularly from talented freshmen Utti, Gamez and Cavey, but the Bulldogs are not a high-scoring team. They defend well, ranking 11th nationally in opponents’ 3-point percentage (27.0).

What you need to know about New Mexico:

The Lobos cannot change their No. 6 seeding position for the upcoming Mountain West tournament, but they’d love to end the regular season with a quality road win. UNM’s only conference road wins this season have been over struggling Air Force and Utah State. A victory at the Save Mart Center would provide a big confidence boost heading into tournament play. Perimeter shooting figures to be key for UNM, which hit nine 3-pointers against Fresno State in Albuquerque and has a school-record 269 this season. The Lobos also have eclipsed the program record for total points scored (2,403) in a season, but they’ve struggled to make 3s and have averaged just 61.8 points over their past five games.
