WINGS FOR LIFE INTERNATIONAL, L.I.F.E. (Life-skills Imparted to Families through Education) is celebrating a free birthday dinner party for Dr. Seuss. Wings is requesting Dr. Seuss-themed books to be given to the kids. The dinner will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona NE. ADELANTE DEVELOPMENT
CENTER INC. volunteers are needed on an ongoing basis for the Benefits Connection Center. Working in the center itself, you can help seniors and people with disabilities find out what benefits they are eligible to receive. To volunteer, you must be able to answer calls pleasantly, and you must be able to speak clearly and hear well on the phone, following a basic script. Perform administrative tasks like keyboarding, printing and faxing. Training will be provided. Several individuals are needed for doing outreach for the center. This important role would help educate seniors and people with disabilities about the Benefits Connection Center and what it can do to help them apply for benefits for which they may qualify. QUINTESSENCE CHORAL ARTISTS OF THE SOUTHWEST is seeking volunteers who love choral music to help support the singers at concerts throughout the season. All concerts are held in area churches. The schedule is very reasonable. Volunteer tasks include ticket scanning, handing out programs, and assisting in setting up signage, information and willcall tables.
