A shooting at a northeast Albuquerque apartment complex left a man dead early Saturday morning, according to a police spokesman.

Officer Simon Drobik said police have no suspects in custody.

He said officers responded to a shots fired call at the Jefferson Crossing Apartments, at Jefferson and Montgomery NE and found a man shot.

Drobik said the man died at the scene and detectives sealed at least one vehicle for evidence.

Marilyn Felldin was home at the time but didn’t hear gunfire, just the commotion that followed.

“My bedroom was all red and blue lights,” Felldin told the Journal.

Felldin, whose balcony faced the crime scene, said she could hear a woman crying late into the night and police vehicles were outside, along with a mobile crime scene lab, until 8 a.m.

“I didn’t sleep all night,” she said.

Drobik did not identify the victim.

“Next of kin has not been notified,” Drobik said.

There have been two other unsolved homicides in the past two weeks in which police have still not identified the victim: a woman who died of a gunshot in the Barelas neighborhood on Feb. 22 and a man shot and killed two days earlier at Cardwell Park in northeast Albuquerque.
