Patricia (Patti) Jean Rose Thompson

Patti was born in Alamosa, Colorado almost 90 years ago to Lois (Fogle) and Bart Rose. They were surrounded by family in Alamosa and Monte Vista and Patti and her sister Peggy spent all their summers on the farm with Uncle Ned and Aunt Babe and family. The Rose family then moved to Denver where they lived for a few years and later moved to Albuquerque. Patti attended junior high in Albuquerque and graduated from Albuquerque High, then went on to the University of New Mexico, where she met her future husband, Robert D. Thompson, a returning vet from World War II. They married in 1949 and made their home in Roswell, where they welcomed a daughter, Trudy, in 1950 and a son, Bill, in 1955. In 1966 Bob and Patti moved their family to Albuquerque. Patti kept a beautiful home that reflected her gracious style. She was a wonderful cook and seamstress and loved to entertain. She and Bob were lucky to have wonderful groups of friends they enjoyed throughout their lives both from Roswell and Albuquerque. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed the women’s golf association at Four Hills Country Club, and could claim a hole in one. Patti supported her children by taking on Brownies, Girl and Boy Scout troops, teaching Sunday School and helping with every activity they participated in. She was spritely and happy and good company all of her life and she will be greatly missed. Patti is survived by her daughter, Trudy Farrell (Joel deceased); her son, Bill Thompson (Rebecca); three wonderful grandchildren, Emily Farrell Sledge (James), Adam Thompson and Elliott Farrell; and her best friend her entire life, her sister, Peggy Rose Knecht (Herb) of California. A celebration of life will be held for friends and family at the home of her son, Bill and his family March 8, 2018, from 2-5 pm, and private interment will take place at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe.
