Ruby Mann Martin

Ruby Mann Martin, 88, of Prairievil­le, Louisiana passed away on February 20, 2018. Ruby was born in Albuquerqu­e, New Mexico on January 3, 1930 to Charles Mann and Beulah Hicks Mann. She graduated from Albuquerqu­e High School in 1948, and married Ernest Lynn Martin, Jr., on September 8, 1951. Ruby is survived by her son, James Stephen Martin (wife Julie); grandchild­ren, Robert Kopera (wife Catherine), Charles Kopera, Alexis Martin, and Alexandra Martin; and greatgrand­children, John Kopera, Maria Kopera, Lauren Ridolfo, and James Ridolfo. She is also survived by her sisters, Eva Timmons (husband Walt), June Longenbaug­h, Katherine Huxel (husband Larry), and Dorothy Boykin (husband Ed); and numerous nieces and nephews (14). She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest Lynn Martin, Jr.; daughter, Joan Martin Prior; sisters, Elizabeth Howard and Charlene Campbell; and brother, James Mann. Ruby had a great love of cats, dogs, and local wildlife, which she often would care for out of the kindness of her heart. She had an artist’s eye for collecting and decorating her home, with both Southwest artists and her own paintings. Ruby was a talented artist and seamstress who created many garments, including her sister Eva’s wedding dress, clothing for her daughter and nieces, and doll clothing. Interment will take place on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 11:00 am at Paradise Memorial Gardens in Scottsdale, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to a charity of your choice in Ruby’s name.
