William Joseph Langlois Jr.

It is with great sadness that the family of Dr. William Joseph Langlois Jr., 95, of Albuquerqu­e, New Mexico, announces his passing on Monday, March 5, 2018. William was born in New Orleans, LA on May 22, 1922. He attended Tulane Medical School, during which he joined the United States Army as a doctor and rose to the rank of captain. In January of 1953, he married his wife of 56 years, Ida Laura Gould. They moved to Albuquerqu­e where he worked as a thoracic surgeon for over 35 years. William loved to attend Lobo basketball games with his family, and going to the opera and the symphony.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ethel Langlois; sister, Audrey Lind; wife, Ida Langlois; and son, Richard Langlois. William is survived by his sons, Steven (Jean), James, and Charles Langlois; daughter, Laura (David) Eicher; eight grandchild­ren; three great-grandchild­ren; a cousin; and several nephews.

In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of William to The New Mexico Commission For The Blind, 2200 Yale Blvd. SE, Albuquerqu­e, NM 87106. A funeral service in memory of William will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 10:00 a. m., at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerqu­e, NM 87109.
