Mayor Tim Keller announced on Wednesday the appointment of Charlotte Little as city clerk.
As city clerk, Little will oversee municipal elections and serve as the city’s chief records custodian.
“I’m delighted to bring Charlotte on board as our new City Clerk,” Keller said in a news release. “Her past experience in tribal administration and working with a host of other government agencies will be extremely beneficial in the City Clerk’s office. The City is in good hands with Charlotte leading this crucial office.”
Little previously served as the tribal administrator and human resources director for the Pueblo of San Felipe.
“I am so honored and humbled to be selected by Mayor Keller,” Little said.
Little said she looks forward to being a representative of the Native American community in her new role.
“I look at this as being an opportunity to serve the people and the City of Albuquerque,” she said.
She is also on several boards, including the San Felipe Pueblo Health Board, the Pueblo Insurance Agency and the Strategic Leadership Institute.
In the past, she worked as an associate with The Setter Group, where she specialized in tribal government gaming, budget and appropriations, and protection of sacred lands.
Little holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Mexico.
