John Patrick (Pat) Sheffer

John Patrick (Pat) Sheffer passed away suddenly at the age of 70 on Saturday, March 3, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Brenda Sheffer; son, Dennis Sheffer and Shayna Earnest; son, John Sheffer and wife Donna; grandchildren, Kyle and Chloe Sheffer; brother, Mark Sheffer and wife Lisa; sister, Marguerite Foster and husband Paul; sister, Bridget Price; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his previous wife of 25 years, Linda Sheffer-Fox, and brother, Steve Sheffer.

He was a native New Mexican raised in Alamogordo. He served with distinction in the Navy, with two tours in Vietnam. He graduated from the University of Albuquerque and had a long career as a respiratory therapist. He loved to travel the world with his wife Brenda and enjoyed family time immensely. He had a wicked sense of humor and loved playing practical jokes. He was very kind, caring, generous and always there to help. His presence, energy, love, smile and laughter will be truly missed. Although he is no longer with us physically, he will be forever in our hearts.

A celebration of life will be held at Christ United Methodist Church located at 6200 Gibson Blvd. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Friday, March 16, 2018. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Steelbridge Ministries, formerly known as Albuquerque Rescue Mission, and/or the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
