Man sought in bank robbery

- JOURNAL AND WIRE REPORTS

The FBI is looking for a man they say robbed a US Bank in Albuquerque’s Uptown Monday morning.

FBI spokesman Frank Fisher said the man entered the bank in the 2300 block of Louisiana NE around 9:20 a.m. and presented the teller with a demand note. The teller then gave the man an undisclosed amount of money and he fled, running toward the Hyatt Place hotel.

Fisher described the suspect as 6 feet tall, in his mid-20s, and wearing a white or light gray hooded sweatshirt with a black ski cap under the hood, gray sweat pants and a light-colored bandanna or mask over the lower part of his face.

“The FBI is asking the public to call if they find any clothing, money, or a plastic shopping bag in the area that may have been discarded by the suspect,” Fisher said. “The items may be colored by a red dye.”

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the FBI at (505) 889-1300 or Crime Stoppers at (505) 843STOP.
