SPORTS SPEAK UP!

I HAVE TO AGREE with Vince on the lack of any Hope players on the All-Metro team. They had players like Johnnie Nitafan, Isaiah Dockery (son of fomer Lobo), Chris Ward and 6’4 Collin Evans, on the best and most improved big post man in the metro. All these players would be if not starting but getting serious minutes on the hardwood for any 6A coach. They were that good this year, look what they did in the Pit this year. Coach Jim Murphy can flat out coach and develop players and it showed in postseason. — Roger Holien

PLEASE LET THE person who oversees the new Scoreboard page know that we are in the Mountain time zone, so game times should show Mountain, not Eastern time. — Gary

I WANT TO compliment whoever redesigned the Scoreboard Page. I love the headings for each sporting category as it is easy to find what you are looking for. I also like the print/font (all caps) to find your team under the transactions section. Also, I could care less if the “On TV & Radio” is on the right or the left as long as it is listed. … — Hunchback Jimmy

WHY ARE APS athletics and the NMAA contributing to the terrible reading and math scores in our public high schools, by scheduling 19 Thursday night Class 6A football games next fall? Please, for the student athletes’ sake, leave Friday night and Saturday for football games and the rest of the week for education. — RB

NMSU FANS realize that when Aggie basketball wins the WAC and dominates UNM, it’s tough on Lobo fans like John (Krapcha) who always come up with the “weak conference” excuse. NMSU enjoyed a high RPI ranking throughout the season and the WAC, which is ranked higher than C-USA and 15 other conferences, continues to improve. Aggies lost to a quality, top-20 basketball program that is in the Sweet 16, and while disappointed, we’re not hanging our heads. — Aggie Dan
