Osweiler lands deal with Miami

WR Hurns, formerly of Jacksonvil­le, signs with Cowboys

The Miami Dolphins have signed quarterbac­k Brock Osweiler to a one-year deal, the Sun Sentinel reports. Osweiler, Denver’s 2012 second-round pick from Arizona State, played four years for the Broncos while coach Adam Gase was quarterbac­ks coach (2012) and offensive coordinato­r.

Osweiler, who spent the 2016 season in Houston before returning to Denver in 2017, is expected to serve as starting QB Ryan Tannehill’s backup this season.

COWBOYS: Dallas added another receiver in free agency Friday when Allen Hurns agreed to a two-year deal, three days after he was released by Jacksonvil­le. Hurns got a $40 million, four-year contract extension after the 2015 season, but he has since been hampered by injuries. On Thursday, Dallas signed wide receiver Deonte Thompson, who played 53 games the past six seasons for Baltimore, Buffalo and Chicago.

JETS: Free-agent defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh tells Yahoo Sports the Jets have emerged as a serious contender for his services. Newsday reports the team has interest as well.

Suh, released by Miami in a cost-cutting move, said the Titans, Rams and Saints are also in the mix. SMITH ARREST: Troubled former Raiders and 49ers player Aldon Smith turned himself into San Francisco Police early Friday morning and was arrested, according to a statement from SFPD.

Smith violated a court order to stay away from his fiancee — the victim of an alleged domestic dispute in which he was involved March 3, the police said. Smith was charged with domestic violence, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, false imprisonme­nt and vandalism, all misdemeano­rs. BENNETT INDICTMENT: Philadelph­ia DE Michael Bennett was indicted Friday by a Harris County, Texas, grand jury for felony charge of injury of the elderly for an incident at Super Bowl LI.

A warrant has been issued for Bennett’s arrest.

Bennett was accused of injuring a 66-year-old paraplegic who was securing the field at Super Bowl LI in Houston in February 2017.

PACKERS: Tramon Williams is returning to Green Bay to help replenish the secondary. The 11-year vet spent the first eight seasons of his career in Green Bay, intercepti­ng 28 passes in 127 games including 99 starts.

Veteran and former New Mexico State Aggie Davon House is a free agent.
