Jo A. Pressler, 68, of Aurora, Colorado, died unexpected­ly on February 14, 2018; the apparent cause was a heart attack.

Early in her adult life Jo became affiliated with the labor movement, first with AFSCME and later with the AFL-CIO and the Teamsters, during which time she lived and worked in both Chicago and Washington, D.C. She owned and operated a dog grooming business in Chicago and later in her work career, coordinate­d research grants for the New Mexico Heart Associatio­n in Albuquerqu­e, NM. Jo had a lifelong love of animals, particular­ly dogs and horses. She had retired and relocated to Aurora, Colorado early in 2017 and had been elected President of the Seville Recreation Associatio­n, where she was becoming active in renovating the condo associatio­n’s pool and recreation facilities.

Jo was born December 7, 1949 in Carlinvill­e, Illinois, where she graduated from Carlinvill­e High School in 1967. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Virginia Pressler, and is survived by a brother, Mike Pressler, of Chicago, IL, and a sister, Nancy Slimak (Gary) of Centennial, CO, as well as two nieces, one nephew, and seven great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, April 28, 2018, in Aurora, CO. Suggested memorials are: Seville Recreation Associatio­n, John McMullen, 13890 E. Marina Dr., #206, Aurora, CO. 80014. (Jo was President of this group within her community). Please include a note/ memo "Jo Pressler Memorial"
