Robert O. Archuleta

Robert O. Archuleta, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2018. He was born July 18, 1939, in Cuba, NM, to Daniel and Gregorita Archuleta. Robert graduated valedictor­ian from El Rito High School in 1958, joined the US Army, and honorably served his country. After he was discharged from the Army, Robert earned a BS degree in Wildlife Science from New Mexico State University. Robert worked for the BLM in Albuquerqu­e, NM, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Crownpoint, NM, Gallup, NM, and Flagstaff, AZ. After retiring, Robert made his home is Horca, CO, on the Conejos River; "Mi Rinconcito en el Cielo", a home he dearly loved. Robert was also a musician for many years and a member of various bands in New Mexico and Colorado. He especially enjoyed volunteeri­ng his time and musical talent to the students of the Antonito Guitar Orchestra and the National Hispanic Institute. Robert also enjoyed volunteeri­ng at the Hunter Education Summer Camp sponsored by the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Department. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting, and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Juanita; daughter, Donna (Vern); sons, Kris and Chris (Sarah); grandchild­ren, Jacob and Hope; brothers, Dan (Martha) and Amadeo (Liva), and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and older sis- ter, JoElla. Service will be held at a later date at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
