Robert Dulaney Barrett Sr. entered eternity on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. Dulaney was born January 29, 1935 on his maternal grandparen­ts’ farm in central Texas, Hamilton County. He was reared in Wink, TX and graduated (1953) from Wink High School (Wink won the state Class A Football Championsh­ip in 1952). Dulaney earned his undergradu­ate degree from McMurry University in Abilene, TX (1956). From Southern Methodist University, Perkins School of Theology, he earned two Masters of Theology degrees: M.Th. (1959) and S.T.M. (1960) Cum Laude, and a Doctorate of Ministry (1975) Magna Cum Laude. He was licensed to preach August 18, 1954 by the Clovis District; ordained a deacon at the Annual Conference session at First UMC, Clovis and ordained Elder at the session at First UMC, Carlsbad (Clovis District), retiring after 48 years of preaching (from license to preach) and 45 years as an ordained minister of the Gospel. Dulaney is welcomed to heaven by his parents, JB and Oleta Barrett. He is survived by his wife, Susan Elizabeth; children, Lydia and husband Richard, Robert and wife Kristine, Suzanna, Cari and husband Jeff; grandchild­ren, Jessica, Michael, Joseph, Cory, Monique, Lydia Ann, Star, Kate and Lilian; six greatgrand­children; as well as many other family members and treasured friends who loved and will miss him greatly. Services will be held at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona St NE. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 1:00 pm, with a visitation beginning at 12:00 noon. Dulaney will be interred at the Murphree Ceme- tery in Evant, TX on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
