Time flies: Deadline to apply for Flying 40 is this Friday

-

Time is running out. The New Mexico Technology Flying 40 program is continuing its 21-year legacy of recognizing New Mexico’s fastest-growing technology companies.

This year’s primary sponsor, the Sandia Science and Technology Park, has been inviting businesses to take part in the celebration of the state’s high-tech growth leaders. But applications, available online at flying40.com, are due on Friday .

Awardees will be notified in early May and invited to a celebration on Wednesday, June 13, at the Albuquerque Botanic Garden and Aquarium.

Eligibility will be the same as previous years and will be determined in three categories: top revenue-growth companies with revenues between $1 million and $10 million; top revenue-growth companies with revenues of more than $10 million; and top revenue-producing technology companies, irrespective of revenue growth.

To be eligible, companies must have five or more employees, have headquarters in New Mexico, and may be publicly listed or privately owned, but cannot be a subsidiary of a company with headquarters outside the state.

The revenue figures will be used to rank the companies in a list that will be published in a special edition of the Journal’s Business Outlook.

Besides the Sandia Science & Technology Park Development Corp., other sponsors this year are KPMG LLP; New Mexico Bank and Trust; Nusenda Credit Union; the Albuquerque Journal Business Outlook and InnovateABQ.
