Virginia Q. Lujan, "Virgie," passed away peacefully at home on March 29, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Virgie was born February 11, 1932 in Santa Fe, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Luisa Quintana; and brother, Tony "Cookie" Quintana. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Edward Lujan; children, Larry (Arlene) Lujan, LouAnne (Stephen) Byrd, Jerry (Lisa) Lujan, and Joe (Dee) Lujan; grandchild­ren, Joe (Devin) Lujan, John Lujan, Andrea Martinez, Kristen (Casey) Kelly, Michael (Katie) Byrd, Kenny Byrd, Jake Lujan, Josh Lujan (fiance Ciera Fuentes), Kelley Lujan, Jared Lujan; great-grandchild­ren, Christine, Jaxsen, Evangeline, Charlie, Max, Bo, Reese LuLu, Emma, Abby and Blaire; sisters, Frances Vieira, Mary Romero; and so many more that loved her like a mother and grandmothe­r.

Virgie was the love of Edward’s life, his perfect partner and the backbone of his family, business, philanthro­pic and political endeavors. She cherished being a mother and grandmothe­r, always teaching valuable life lessons to everyone she encountere­d, from her kids, grandkids, to in-laws and friends of friends. She loved to entertain and had a way of making everyone feel special with her beautiful smile and infectious giggle. Virgie was all of a feisty 4’ 9" in height but a giant in her presence and character.

A Rosary will be held at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix Ave. NE, 87110 on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow Mass at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE.
