MORE CHANGES: The already altered route for the May 20 Santa Fe Century has undergone another change because of construction on N.M. 14. The new route eliminates the leg across ferocious Heartbreak Hill and through colorful Madrid, replacing it with a 26-mile loop that includes Bonanza Creek Road and the I-25 frontage road, and a short out and back to the top of La Bajada Hill, with views of the Rio Grande Valley. The route change is expected to be for this year only as construction should be completed before 2019’s event.
