Author, her well-traveled dogs have their day

AT TREASURE HOUSE BOOKS & GIFTS: Joyce Fay will sign “The Adventures of Bro & Tracy” from 1 to 3 p.m. today. Accompanyi­ng Joyce will be a couple of her canine friends.

The book tells the story of the author as she travels through the Southwest with her two dogs. It has been republishe­d and is available now, to benefit Bro and Tracy Animal Welfare Inc.

Gloria Casale will sign her thriller “Bioterror: The Essential Threat” from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 12.

FRIENDS FOR THE PUBLIC LIBRARY will hold its monthly used book, DVD and CD sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Main Library, 501 Copper NW. Admission is $2, free after noon and free for children. In addition, the group will hold its semiannual $5-a-bag sale, which includes all items, from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 13, at the Main Library. Admission is free, and bags are provided. There is no limit on purchases.

AT BOOKWORKS: John Dadosky will sign “Image to Insight: The Art of William Hart McNichols” at 6 p.m. Friday, May 11.

Iconograph­y is undergoing a revival in 21st century American Catholicis­m. William Hart McNichols, who paints in his studio in New Mexico, is one of the most popular iconograph­ers of this renaissanc­e, and this book comprises a selection of the images.

David Schwartz will talk about “The Last Man Who Knew Everything, Father of the Nuclear Age” at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 12.
