Dodgers’ Kershaw put on DL
MONTERREY, Mexico — A hellish road trip for the Dodgers turned even darker Sunday morning, when the team placed Clayton Kershaw on the disabled list with biceps tendinitis.
Kershaw was scheduled to fly back to Los Angeles to be examined by team doctor Neal ElAttrache, a Dodgers official said. Kershaw has been placed on the disabled list in each of the last three seasons.
METS: The Mets reversed course and put right-hander Jacob deGrom on the disabled list with a hyperextended elbow in his pitching arm.
The 29-year-old was hurt while batting Wednesday against Atlanta, and after an MRI and scan the Mets said he had been given the OK to
make Monday’s start at Cincinnati. Instead, he was put on the 10-day disabled list Sunday. The move was retroactive to Thursday, making deGrom eligible to be activated May 13, when the Mets play a series finale at Philadelphia.
CARDINALS: Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina underwent emergency surgery Saturday evening after being hit in his groin area by a foul ball in that afternoon’s game at Busch Stadium, according to president of baseball operations John Mozeliak.
Molina will be sidelined for at least a month, Mozeliak confirmed to the Post-Dispatch on Sunday morning. Molina sustained a traumatic hematoma that needed immediate medical attention.
