Agueda (Aggie) Gallegos-Sandoval

Agueda (Aggie) GallegosSa­ndoval, born in La Loma, NM in 1931, married Gilbert F. Gallegos in 1946. Together they were blessed with five children: Gilbert Gallegos, Hope Chavez, Danny Gallegos, Jimmy Gallegos and Annabell Gallegos. Aggie attended both Highlands University and later TVI. After moving to Albuquerqu­e in 1968 she began her career as accountant with the City of Albuquerqu­e until her retirement in 1994. Following her retirement, Aggie gave 10 years of her life as a volunteer at UNMH. Aggie was a proud member of Las Mujeres de Lulac. Aggie is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Nestor Gonzales and Manuelita Gutierrez; Gilbert F. Gallegos; her son, Jimmy P. Gallegos; granddaugh­ters, Dominique Gallegos, Charity Sanchez; siblings, Augustine, Amador, Castella, Albert, Eddie, Manny and Berna. Aggie is survived by her husband of 38 years, Jose Sandoval; her son, Gilbert and wife Patty; her daughter, Hope and husband JD; her son, Danny and wife Connie; her daughter, Annabelle and husband Jack; grandchild­ren, Bobbie Chavez, Faith Sanchez, the Honorable Daniel Gallegos, Dominic Gallegos, Gabrielle Hearod and Stephanie Duneman; seven great-grandchild­ren; two great-great-grandchild­ren and her dearest cousin, Nina Henry. Aggie will always be remembered for her passion of politics, her beauty, her strength and her love of her family. Pallbearer­s will be Faith Sanchez, the Honorable Daniel Gallegos, Dominic Gallegos, Gabrielle Hearod, Stephanie Duneman and Angelo Esquibel.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s on the Rio Grande Catholic Church at 5901 Josephs Dr. NW, Albuquerqu­e, NM 87120. A Mass will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s on the Rio Grande Catholic Church. Entombment will be held immediatel­y after Mass at Mt. Calvary at 1900 Edith Blvd. NE, Albuquerqu­e, NM 87102. Aggie’s family would like to extend their appreciati­on and thanks to the Ravenna Assisted Living staff and Alliance Hospice.
