Motorcyclist killed in crash

A motorcyclist crashed and died after striking a vehicle’s side mirror and a curb on Wyoming NE south of Lomas on Saturday evening, according to police.

Albuquerque police spokesman Simon Drobik said the fatal crash investigation team found that the motorcyclist was heading north on Wyoming in the far left lane and going at a “high rate of speed.”

“He was approaching a slower vehicle directly ahead of him,” Drobik said. “He attempted to pass on the left between the vehicle and the median.”

Drobik said the motorcyclist hit the vehicle’s side mirror and then struck the curb.

“He was ejected from the motorcycle and died from his injuries,” he said.

Drobik did not identify the motorcyclist.
