A man was shot and killed in an East Central mobile home park about 12:05 a.m. Tuesday, according to police.

Gilbert Gallegos, an Albuquerque Police Department spokesman, identified the man as John Maldonado. He did not know Maldonado’s age.

Gallegos said just after midnight officers were called to a reported shooting at a mobile home in a park at 10600 Central, east of Eubank. He said when they arrived, they found a man lying on the ground.

Another APD spokesman said the man had been shot.

“The male subject was pronounced dead at the scene,” Gallegos said. “Detectives conducted several interviews and served two search warrants.”

He said no arrests have been made. Homicide detectives are investigating.

Tuesday afternoon the park was quiet and a couple of people hanging out at mobile homes nearby said they had not heard anything. A man at the mobile home where the shooting had happened waved away a Journal reporter and said he did not want to talk.
