Florence T. Leishman age 88, passed away Wednesday, May 16,

2018 in Albuquerqu­e, NM after a brief illness. Florence was born January 9, 1930 in Crane, TX to Louise and Robert E. Turrentine. She spent most of her childhood in El Paso, TX after her father died when she was very young and she was raised by Louise, our dear ‘Mimi’, a lifelong elementary school teacher. She graduated from UTEP in 1950 and married her husband of 67 years, Colonel (Ret) Carl A. Leishman in 1951. Together they traveled the world and raised two sons and a daughter. An avid golfer, with her husband and family, she retired as an Army wife from the military in 1981. Flo and Carl retired to Hawaii where they enjoyed years of friends, family and life and then moved to Albuquerqu­e in 2007 to be closer to family. Florence is survived by her devoted husband, Carl; her three children, Monty Leishman (and wife, Karen) of Artesia, NM, Carl S. Leishman (and wife, Nancy) of Albuquerqu­e, NM, and Elaine L. Lynn (and husband, Sam) of Albuquerqu­e, NM; five grandchild­ren; six great-grandchild­ren; and her brother, Robert E. Turrentine (and wife, Doris) of Georgetown, TX. A private Memorial Service will be held by the family to celebrate the long and loving times of a life well lived. She will be missed.
