Richard was a scratch golfer who qualified and competed in the US amateur as a young man. He had a hole in one on October 25, 2016 at Tanoan Country Club on Acoma 3, 155 yards, using his 9iron; he loved taking everyone’s lunch money on the golf course. Richard maintained life-long friendships and made new friends wherever he went as his kind heart and generous spirit were testament to this incredibly special man who will be missed by everyone he touched.

Richard is also survived by his mother, Sally; his sister, Jenny, her husband George and their son Clay; and several aunts including Pam and Grace. He also leaves behind two sisters-in-law, Maxann and Barbara; along with several uncles, many cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition, Richard leaves behind some very dear friends which he considered to be his family. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard H. Price II; his grandparents; and some very special aunts and uncles. The family wishes to thank the special people at the UNMH Cancer Center as they became part of Richard’s "team." Richard’s family also wishes to thank his law enforcement and Liberty Gym families for their ongoing support which has meant so much. The family is also forever grateful for the loving care provided by the staff at Compassus.
