One of America’s most recognized voices will be stopping in Santa Fe Saturday for an evening of performance and discussion of “the power of story—and its limitations.”
“This American Life” host Ira Glass will join Storycatchers Theatre of Chicago, which encourages young people caught in the criminal justice system to channel their energy into theater, and some of the Santa Fe Art Institute’s Equal Justice Artists. Glass will speak with Meade Palidofsky of Storycatchers between performances by the two groups.

An “orchestra conductor from the future” will be showing off his worldly beats during a free show Saturday scheduled in correlation with the Currents New Media Festival.
The Moroccan-American musician known as DJ H.A.T., whose full name is Hatim Belyamani, electronically mixes traditional music played from his home country and elsewhere around the world. In 2012, after leaving his management job with Apple, he founded remix <— —> culture, a collective of international artists with a goal of showcasing cultures using art. During his live shows, H.A.T. projects videos displaying the international musicians whose sounds make up his tracks. H.A.T. will perform his free concert in the Railyard Plaza at 7 p.m. The show is sponsored by the continually pleasing AMP Concerts and the Santa Fe Railyard.

Pulizter Prize finalist written by former “Law & Order” writer Gina Gionfriddo, chronicles the post-grad lives of college friends Catherine and Gwen. Catherine has become an academic, specializing in feminism, while Gwen married and stayed home with her children. Both long for what the other has, which leads to tension between them. The duo’s drama goes on amidst their participation in a seminar in which they, along with other women, discuss feminism and what it means to be a woman today. “Rapture, Blister, Burn” stars Leslie Fleming-Mitchell, Madeleine Garcia,Vanessa Rios y Valles, Ann Roylance and David Christian Welborn. Shows at Teatro Paraguas, 3205 Calle Marie, run Thursday-Sunday until June 24.
