SOCCER

JAGUARS COACH RESIGNS: Successful Capital High School boys soccer coach Eugene Doyle resigned his post after 10 seasons. Doyle, who led the Jaguars to the 2014 Class 5A state championsh­ip, went 158-63-4 and reached the state tournament every year.

BASKETBALL

GIRLS COACH LEAVES: After four seasons, Leroy Barela resigned as the Robertson High School girls basketball coach. Barela led the Cardinals to consecutiv­e District 2-4A championsh­ips and achieved the No. 2 seed this past season. Robertson went 71-44 during his tenure and reached the semifinals in 2017.

SOFTBALL

CALIFORNIA BOUND: Española Valley High School catcher Alexia Garcia will play in the fall at Feather River College in Quincy, Calif. She hit .488 with two homers last season.

BASEBALL

ALL-AMERICAN:

Los Alamos High School graduate Connor Mang, who is playing for the University of New Mexico, was named to the Collegiate Baseball freshmen All-America team. Mang hit .326 in 48 games with two home runs and 27 RBI. He committed just one error while playing first base.

ATHLETICS

SCHOLARSHI­P AWARDED: Three-sport athlete Cora Cannedy of Taos High School earned a four-year, $3,750 annual college scholarshi­p through the Los Alamos Employees Scholarshi­p Fund.

MORE HOOPS

NEW POSITION:

Anthony Moya, former assistant girls basketball coach at Santa Fe Indian School, and Española Valley and Santa Fe high schools, has been named the new boys hoops coach at Academy for Technology and the Classics. Moya is taking over for Adam Garcia, who went 13-37 in his two seasons.
