Rosalyn Zimmerman
Rosalyn Zimmerman, Age 100, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018. She was born in Bronx, NYC on July 27, 1917, to Benjamin and Esther Adelson. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mildred Harris, and her brother Melvin Adelson.
Rosalyn is survived by her son, George (Jan) Zimmerman of Point Reyes, CA, son, Mark (Anneke) Zimmerman of Las Vegas, NV. Her grandchildren; Sarah, James, Claire, Benjamin, Sara. Great-grandchildren, Isabel, Aurora, Amira, Nivea, Raviv. Cousin; Nancy Balf of Louisville, KY and sister-n-law, Lila Zimmerman of Secaucus, NJ. Nieces and nephews; Marcia AdelsonDiRago, Bruce Adelson, Robert, Leigh, Brian Harris, and Jory, Adam Zimmerman.
She was a High School teacher for 25 years at Cresskill High School in Cresskill, NJ and retired in 1984.
She was a member of Four Hills Book Club, Four Hills Flying Solos. Her special pursuit; Poetry, American Presidents, American First Ladies, and Art History. She was an elementary school reading volunteer for 13 years and an UNM Adult Education educator. Her favorite quotations; To Teach is To Love. Poetry; Words are my vanity.
Memorial Service was held at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Interment was held at Fairview Cemetery. Rabbi Arthur Flicker officiating.
