Saturday: Adopting their foodthemed alter egos, the Omaha Runzas (normally the Storm Chasers) pitched a 2-0 shutout against the Albuquerque Green Chile Cheesebugers (normally Isotopes) on Saturday night.
It was the fourth shutout of the season for the Isotopes, who were held to just five hits in the game, none for extra bases. Albuquerque RHP Yency
Almonte took the loss despite a solid outing, allowing two runs off four hits and two walks over six innings.
Reliever Shane Broyles pitched two perfect innings for Albuquerque out of the bullpen.
Omaha 3B Corey Toups got the Runzas on the board with a second-inning RBI double, scoring 1B Ryan O’Hearns for the 1-0 lead.
In the bottom of the third inning, 2B Adalberto Mondesi got Omaha’s second run on a home run to center field, his fifth of the season. Transactions: Colorado
