Lee M. Truitt

April 14, 1940June 7, 2018 Lee M. Truitt Jr., a longtime resident of Aztec slipped quickly from this life after having his morning coffee on June 7, 2018 after battling Parkinson’s Disease for almost 30 years. He was 78 years old.

Lee was born April 14, 1940 in Philadelph­ia to Lillian E. and Lee M. Truitt Sr. After early years in Wilmington, Delaware the family moved to Albuquerqu­e in 1944. He graduated Highland High School in 1957, and attended the auniversit­y of New Mexico where he met Patricia K Young. They married in 1960 and lived in Albuquerqu­e where they had two daughters, Victoria Lea and Particia Lea (Trish). After working for the Forest Service and owning a filing station, he joined the Internatio­n Brotherhoo­d of Electricia­l Workers Union where he rose to the level of Journeyman Wireman. He traveled the country working on projects as diverse as large housing developmen­ts, The San Juan Generating Station, multiple hotels/casions in Las Vegas, and the Nevada Test Site (a.k.a Area 51). He was a member of and representa­tive for the IBEW for over 50 years.

Since his retirement he served as a Board Member for the Southside Water Users Associatio­n and opursued his love of gardening at his home on the south side of Aztec. He was preceded in death by his parents Lee M Truitt, Sr. and Lillian Elizabeth Truitt. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Patricia K. Truitt of Aztec, his daughter Victoria Vannest (Karl) of Carlsbad, his daughter Patricia Fochler (Ron) of Aztec, his brother John Truitt (Holly) of Albuquerqu­e, grand daughters Michelle Baber (Farmington), Amanda Standridge (San Diego,CA), Cheyenne Fochler (Aztec), and Orin Fochler (Aztec). He has 4 Great Grand daughters.

Throughout his life Lee was a compasiona­te, hard working, generous, courteous and loving man. He remained so until his very last breath. No service is planned. Please direct any contributi­on to Cranes Roost in Aztec, or the National Parkinson’s Foundation.
