Trump: Could send Mexicans to Japan

President allegedly told Japanese leader he’d send ‘25 million’

- NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

President Donald Trump floored his fellow world leaders last week when he told Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe he’d send “25 million Mexicans” to Japan during a discussion on immigration.

Trump told Abe he’s lucky that his country doesn’t have to deal with an influx of migrants, like the U.S. or European countries.

“Shinzo, you don’t have this problem, but I can send you 25 million Mexicans and you’ll be out of office very soon,” Trump said, a senior EU official told The Wall Street Journal.

The comment made others in the room uncomfortable, “but everyone tried to be rational and calm,” the official told the newspaper.

Trump’s whirlwind stop in Quebec for the annual G-7 summit last weekend was beset by a number of purported gaffes and stunning statements made by the president.

He arrived late to the summit, after floating the idea of allowing Russia to rejoin the elite group, and left early.

While meeting with leaders from America’s top allies, Trump reportedly defended Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion and annexation of the Crimean peninsula by claiming that people in the region are Russian speakers.

During talks about terrorism, Trump also made a bizarre and insensitive remark to French President Emmanuel Macron, according to The Journal.

“‘You must know about this, Emmanuel, because all the terrorists are in Paris,’” the senior official said.

He also butted heads with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and European leaders by sticking to his hard-line trade stance. Trump has maintained that the U.S. is being treated unfairly by allies when it comes to trade.

Trump lashed out at Trudeau after pulling out of a joint statement issued at the end of the meeting.

The commander in chief said he would not sign the G-7 agreement and called Trudeau “weak” and “dishonest.”
