WAIT A DAY TO PUT OUT YOUR TRASH BIN
Albuquerque’s Solid Waste Department delays trash and recycling pickup, putting residential and commercial collections on a holiday schedule.
Management at Albuquerque’s Solid Waste Department on Monday delayed trash and recycling collection after a longtime employee died at a city facility from what officials called an apparent suicide.
Diane Wikler, spokeswoman with the city’s Solid Waste Management Department, said grief counselors were immediately called to provide help to employees.
Residential and commercial collections will be on a holiday schedule this week, and residents and businesses can plan to have their trash and recycling collected one day after their normal scheduled day.
Commercial customers who usually receive service on Saturday will be serviced regularly.
Operating hours at the three convenience centers, Montessa Park Convenience Center at 3512 Los Picaros Road SW; Don Reservoir Convenience Center, 114th St. and Central SW; and Eagle Rock Convenience Center, 6301 Eagle Rock Rd.
