SPORTS SPEAK UP!

- sportsspeakup@abqjournal.com

I’M PROUD TO SAY I’ve attended almost every Lobo home baseball game, and several out of town games over the past 7 years and will continue to do so in the future until such time as the Pride pass becomes too expensive. I’m sure a price increase is on the horizon given the irresponsibility of UNM in adequately overseeing its overall sports financials. To see UNM dump the baseball program would be a travesty given the loyal fan base it has and the hard work and great GPAs the players put forth.

IN THE LAST couple of weeks, I have had the opportunity to watch several games in the World Cup. One thing I have to comment on is many of the players are particularly skilled in dramatic arts. Often times, the slightest brush by an opposing player causes them to fall and cry out in great pain. It is too funny.

MIKE TORREZ: When writing about “Columbia” respecting its flag and anthem, please have enough respect to spell that country’s name right: it’s Colombia.

MIKE: IN POLAND, the police don’t shoot unarmed black men, unlike here (the reason for “taking a knee,” remember?). Besides Putin is not exactly known for tolerating dissent.

LARRY THE VOL: As my Alabama father-in-law would say, only a UT fan would vote to end UNM football.

I AM COMPLETELY annoyed with all of you Lobo football haters. I am a lobo football season ticket holder and I have been for many years. I love the tailgating and going to the games and you people want to squander my fun. I will be completely devastated if they get rid of Lobo football.
