National Hispanic foundation hires new director
Ricci currently heads the CNM foundation
The National Hispanic Cultural Center Foundation has found its new director.
The announcement was made Wednesday that Roberta Ricci will begin as the new foundation director.
Ricci replaces Anna Sanchez, who left the role on Feb. 23 after three years at the helm.
Ricci is currently the director of development for the Central New Mexico Community College Foundation, focusing on raising over $2 million to support student scholarships and programs throughout CNM.
Ricci said the NHCC is close to her heart, as she grew up in the neighborhood and also attended the grand opening of the center in 2000.
“I have since remained connected to the center through my volunteer work, as well as attending many of the events put on by the center,” Ricci said. “I am thrilled to be working for an organization that is dedicated to the preservation, promotion and advancement of Hispanic culture, arts and humanities. I believe my professional experience along with my commitment to the Hispanic community through my various volunteer leadership roles will allow me to continue to grow the Center’s partnerships and support, both within our local community and on a national scale.”
Ricci will hit the ground running and said one of her main goals is to engage and educate people on the opportunities that the NHCC offers through programs, exhibit and events.
In this role, Ricci is tasked with overseeing, directing and implementing all facets of the NHCC Foundation’s operations; executing all fundraising efforts to support the NHCC Foundation’s operating expenses; and coordinating fundraising efforts to support the NHCC’s programs and operational needs, including capital campaigns, equipment needs and staffing needs.
Ricci is a graduate of the University of New Mexico, where she earned a master’s in educational leadership with a concentration in higher education. She also has a bachelor’s in business administration.
