THE STOREHOUSE,
New Mexico’s largest food pantry, provides over 1.7 million meals a year to individuals and families in need, but we can’t do it without the help of volunteers. Ongoing volunteer duties include sorting and repackaging food, helping clients with food, directing client traffic during food distribution, and other miscelaneous tasks. Days and times vary. Please contact Swarupa at 828-1434 or sdwatlington@thestorehouseabq.org. Our website is thestorehouseabq. org. Groups are welcome.
NEW MEXICO KIDS MATTER,
needs CASA volunteers. A CASA volunteer is a court appointed, trained and committed adult who ensures that each child’s individual needs remain a priority in an over-burdened child welfare system. They get to know the child while also gathering information from the child’s family, teachers, doctors, caregivers and anyone else involved in the child’s life in order to make independent and informed recommendations to help the judge decide what’s best for the child. If you are looking for a meaningful and enriching volunteer opportunity in Bernalillo county and want to do something about child abuse, CASA is right for you. There are over 900 children in Bernalillo county that still need a CASA. Call the office at 903-0305 or visit nmkidsmatter. org. FUNDRAISERS
