TURNING UP THE HEAT

-

Johnny Duran and his family, operating as Los Chile Brothers, have been selling green chile during the late summer and fall in Santa Fe for 33 years. Duran, along with his son Chris and other family members, grows chile on 40 acres in Hatch. Their stand also sells CDs with music by the family band, the Duranimals Band. Later in the season, the Durans offer red chile ristras in Taos.

They started roasting in the parking lot about two weeks ago and will continue until November.
