Portana Baca

Portana Baca, age 97, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 8, 2018, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Colonias, NM and was a resident of Albuquerque, NM. Her family was her greatest joy; she prayed constantly for their well-being. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fidel and Cleofitas Gallegos; her husband, Manuel Baca; grandchildren, Randi Nicole Baca, Albert Baca, Diego Gonzales; daughter-in-law, Margaret Baca; son-in-law, Morris Cordero; and all her eight siblings. Portana is survived by her loving children, Alex Baca, Priscilla Trujillo and husband Jose, Maida Cordero, Olivia Cotinola and husband Roy, Fidel Baca, Randy Baca and wife Addie; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild; and other numerous relatives and friends. Portana will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p .m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 Fourth St., NW, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9:00 a.m. also at the Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Alex Baca Jr., Ruben Trujillo, Morris Cordero, Chris Cotinola, Nicholas Baca, and Eugene Romero.
