SANTA FE HUMANE SOCIETY

-

Stop by the Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Humane Society to meet

Akira. She is a beautiful 2-year-old gal who weighs about 50 pounds. Akira, an Alaskan Husky mix, is a sweet girl who loves cuddle sessions and giving kisses. She also loves playtime and does great on leash walks.

Stormy is a 7-yearold neutered male with striking green eyes and a beautiful grayish blue coat. Initially, Stormy was shy and introverted, but once he got out of the hustle and bustle of the shelter and into a foster home, he showed just how brave and outgoing he can be. After a few days settling in, his foster parents report that he would purr uncontrollably when petted and would approach them soliciting attention. After a week or so, he even started to play with some toys, and his foster parents discovered how much he loves catnip.

Visit adoptable animals in the community during the shelter’s mobile adoption events on Saturday and Sunday, noon-3 p.m., at PetSmart, 3561 Zafarano Drive. On Wednesday, Aug. 22, the adoption team will be at The Bridge at 37 Fire Place from noon to 3 p.m.

These and other animals are available for adoption from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter at 100 Caja del Rio Road. The shelter’s adoption hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Follow the shelter on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. To inquire about any of these pets or others, call 9834309 ext. 1610 or log on to www.sfhumanesociety.org.
