Probables: Isotopes LHP Sam Howard (3-6, 5.06) vs. Chihuahuas

LHP Logan Allen (2-0, 1.64). Tuesday: In a game that included yet another rain delay for the Isotopes, this one at least on the road at El Paso, the Chihuahuas opened the series with a 6-4 win over visiting Albuquerque.

The ’Topes led 3-1 before El Paso scored a pair to tie it in the fourth and two more in the sixth to take the lead for good, 5-3 at that point, before the rain delay.

Topes 2B Pat Valaika led the charge in the losing effort with three hits from the leadoff spot.

1B Jordan Patterson hit his 23rd homer of the season. This and that: Jeff Hoffman pitched a career high 8 innings last Sunday vs. Sacramento, which was also the longest outing by an Isotopes pitcher this season.

... Stephen Cardullo went 6-for9 with five runs, three extra-base hits and two walks in the four-game series vs. Sacramento.

… Josh Fuentes’ 86 RBIs are the third-most in the PCL.

... Santiago Casilla is one save away from the 200th of his 18-year professional career.

... The Isotopes’ 145 double plays turned are the most in Minor League Baseball.

... Albuquerque is 2-9 this season after scheduled off days.

Also of note: The Isotopes came into Tuesday having not allowed a home run over the previous five games, and thus their 160 homers allowed no longer lead Minor League Baseball. That dubious honor goes to Las Vegas.

Next home game: Friday vs. Reno, 6:35 p.m., batting practice pullovers giveaway
