Robert Henry Stuart
Robert Henry Stuart was born in 1929 to James Austin Stuart and Mary Ella Hight Stuart. He was educated in Artesia (New Mexico) public schools and graduated from the University of New Mexico.
He received his MBA from the University of Alabama. He served as a navigator/bombardier in the B-36 and the B-47 at SAC bases (Ramey AFB, Homestead AFB, Schilling AFB, and Pease AFB). He flew 199 missions in RF4Cs out of Udorn, Thailand. He was a Distinguished Graduate of Air War College where he was awarded for the Best Professional Study. He served at the Pentagon in Studies and Analysis and at Kirtland AFB, NM as Director of Operations AFOTEC. He retired as Colonel having served 26 years. He received the Legion of Merit with Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medals, Vietnam Service Medals, Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Air Force Commendation Medal. He subsequently was Vice President at BDM International Corporation/ Northrup-Gruman for 17 years. Bob is survived by Jane, his wife of 60 years, daughters Laura Ruth, Mary Angela, Anne Marguerite (husband Patrick Marble), granddaughter Kelsea J Marble, grandson Robert Tyler Marble (wife Brianna), great-granddaughters Reese Anna and Ryann Grace Marble. He was predeceased by his daughter Elizabeth Hight Stuart Barajas, his siblings Wilber, Irene, Ira, Averille, James, D.C., Garland, Drotha, and John. Bob was a member of Phi Delta Theta and was active in Episcopal Church parishes. A graveside service will be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico at a later date.
