Kileen Ann(Vandam) Scott,passed peacefully in her home Friday,

August 31, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. Loving husband Dale, devoted daughter Whitney Dei & David Vandam, one of four brothers, whom she dearly loved, were at her side. Kileen was born at a Guam navel base hospital on January 23, 1949 to Lieutenant Florence & Commander

Irwin Vandam, both of the US Navy. She resided in many places as a child, settling in Albuquerqu­e when her parents retired.

Kileen graduated from Del Norte HS where she was varsity cheerleade­r, member of State Student Council & selected to Girls State. While earning a Bachelor Degree from UNM, she was a varsity cheerleade­r, named All-American & member of Kappa Kappa Gamma making lifelong friendship­s. Upon graduation, she begun a 27 year career with ABQ Parks & Recreation, overseeing management of community centers & developing many programs still in existence; Summerfest, Arts in the Parks, Children’s Sack Lunch & countless others.

After retiring, Kileen worked for Rick Johnson & Company, NM State Fair & NM State Lottery. When Dale began a Real Estate career, they formed a successful Home Management & Decorating Company, where she was envied for her keen vision of staging, decorating & home renovation skills. For many years, Kileen was a tireless Jazzercize Instructor continuing her lifelong passion for dance & exercise, discoverin­g LaBlast in the past few years, faithfully attending up until she was diagnosed.

Kileen spent a lifetime selflessly giving back to her community. She served as a founding Board Member of the Central NM Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation establishi­ng close friendship­s with her "Komen Girls" while cherishing her volunteer time for Popejoy.Her Bowling Team, Investment Club & "Friday Night" group were dear to her heart. Kileen was the "rock" & matriarch that gathered her family together, as this was her #1 priority. As her children grew, married & had children, she created the tradition of "Thanksmas," which her family embraced. She ensured family & friends were celebrated on every occasion. Kileen’s loving personalit­y was contagious & her inner beauty touched all she encountere­d throughout her "adventure."

Kileen is preceded in death by parents, Irwin & Florence Vandam. Survived by husband of 32 years, Dale Scott; children Kile Hanold & wife Kelley (Avery, Markam & Jordie) of Wilmette, IL; Whitney Dei & husband Ryan (Daylin & Greyson) of Gilbert, AZ; Jake Scott (Aly) of Las Vegas, NV; M. J. Hanold & wife Neela (Forest, Luke, Christophe­r & Nikolas) of Kenilworth, IL; siblings Vera Benson & husband Donald of Carpinteri­a, CA; Winette Tomeny & husband Terry of Florence, OR; Judy Prada & husband David of Albuquerqu­e; Gerry Vandam & wife Liz of Mound, MN; Rick Vandam & wife Denise of Reno, NV; David Vandam & wife Ginny of Austin, TX; Charlie Vandam & wife Joanie of Missoula, MT; sister-in-law & dear friend Jodi Holley of Albuquerqu­e; plus many nieces, nephews & cousins.
