Actor receives apology for groping by agent

- NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

Actor Terry Crews has accepted an apology from the talent agent who allegedly groped him at a party in 2016.

Crews shared a remorseful letter he says he was sent to him by Adam Venit in March and explained he had decided to accept the apology after the agent left his entertainment company, William Morris Endeavor, earlier this week.

In the letter, which Crews posted to Twitter, Venit takes “responsibility” for the situation without going into specifics.

“The intent of this letter is to start a dialogue in service of taking responsibility for the emotional challenge that this experience has caused you and your family,” the beginning of the letter reads. “I have done so much thinking and learning and have looked inside myself with the help of my wife, my family, and professionals to understand the person that I am, and why I am that person.

“I have dedicated myself to spiritual self-discovery in an effort to be the best person I can be for the rest of my life, and hopefully make a difference to me, my family, and everyone I know.”

He goes on to say that he hopes they can “come together and become a positive story in a very messed up world.”

Venit was placed on a 30-day suspension by WME last year after Crews came forward with the groping allegation, but the agent returned to work following an internal investigation.

Crews filed a lawsuit in December, with the legal filing claiming Venit had squeezed the actor’s genitals “so hard that he leapt back in pain.”
